Feeling stressed, tired and run down: should I see my GP?!

Question: Feeling stressed, tired and run down: should I see my GP.?
I don't want to take any medication, but is this something I should see a doctor about or should I just hang in there, try to take things easy and wait for it to pass.? I've also lost my appetite and as such am losing weight from an already thin frame.

It's interfering with my schoolwork as I am finding it difficult to concentrate and many evenings just can't seem to work up the energy to do my homework.

If I were to see him, would it be appropriate for me to ask him to make me (as in medically tell me to) drop an A-level (I'm doing four) and gain about a stone (taking my BMI from 17.5 to about 20, and just about getting me up to the minimum weight to give blood).? I think that's what I'd most like to do but would find it hard to gain weight without a doctor insisting and would feel incredibly guilty about dropping a subject without being officially told to. Or should I just let him make up his own mind about what's best for me.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You have answered your own question. Let the doctor decide. It could be something easily fixed like anemia or poor thyroid function. If it is something not so easy you need to know what it is so you can participate with your physician in deciding what you should to fix the problem. Good luckHealth Question & Answer
