Why do itcy bites throb different colours with your pulse?!

Question: Why do itcy bites throb different colours with your pulse.?
You can sometimes see when your blood is pumping through you because an itchy bite you have will throb from its yellowy colour to red and then back again.
Dont say Im crazy because I know its true. If you've never seen it before watch your itchy bites a little closer.

I'll admit I've never noticed it before but I'll give you my best guess as to why it happens. When something bites you the site swells up, obviously. The swelling constricts the capillaries (the really tiny blood vessels in your skin) which gives the bump a pale color. When your heart beats, blood is forced through the constricted capillaries and makes the bump darken to a more red color. Once that pressure is gone, after the heart beat, the constriction goes back to cutting off the normal flow of blood and the bump returns to a pale color.Health Question & Answer
