Like if you hold it in for a long time what happens.? I know you could get an infection but exactly how does that happen, why would holding in pee give you a water infection, UTI or kidney infection whatever.Health Question & Answer

Lots of people say holding your bladder actually strengthens it but in the long run it will become weaker, especially in old age you will be peeing yourself a lot. Well if your pee has nowhere to go it backs up into the kidneys and then causes an infection because of the toxins.Health Question & Answer
The only thing I know that happens other than the infections and kidney damage is that your bladder will eventually explode; it can stretch to the thinness of an onion skin, but it will eventually give way...however, it might just take matters into its own hands and push the pee out anyway. There has to be only so much that clenching your legs can do! I suppose it would come out in your sleep anyway, seeing as we have a lot less control over ourselves during sleep...and plus there's only so long you can go without sleep before you either pass out anyway (and so wet yourself because you're asleep) or make yourself insane and wet yourself because you've short-circuited your brain, so to speak (it takes about 14 consecutive days of no sleep to do this).

You can hold it for a while is good but not too long.
You should go to pee about every 2 to 4 hours during the day if you drink enough.
Notice how yellow your pee is when you first get up in the morning, then as the day goes along it is almost clear.
The clearness shows less bacteria, and good working kidney function.

Your body needs to drain your waste. If your organs are unable to function properly because you have too much urine backing up, you'll get an infection.
