Question: Why have i been doing this.?

ok, for the longest time i've had the urge to seriously punch people that ate ice near me....i could NOT stand it...
but recently i've started chewing ice and i can't stop...
i know that this was linked to some kind of deficiency, or several different things...but i can't remember what....
