Question: I had a really bad allergy attack and took some Advil....?
I'm talking really bad - My eyes were pretty much sealed shut, I couldn't breathe through my nose, My inner ear was dry and itchy and my skin was starting to break out. So I took an Advil and about 10-15 min later I felt better enough to let myself sleep.
My question is doesn't Advil take about 30 min. to get into your system.? Did I just feel a placebo type of affect.? Does that mean allergies really is all in the mind.?Health Question & Answer

First of all, Advil is an anti-inflammatory medication. 10-15 minutes is about right for a response time, but if it helped your symptoms, it wasn't allergies. Allergies would be helped by an antihistamine, like Benadryl.Health Question & Answer
