Is 16 X-ray shots in 1 year safe?!
Question: Is 16 X-ray shots in 1 year safe.?
This year I have had several injuries. One was a back injury where I was required to have 6 X-rays on the back and 2 X-rays on the chest. After several months, I had a head injury and had to have 8 X-ray shots to the head. That makes around 16 X-ray shots for this year alone. Is this safe.? I heard that X-ray can cause cancer or something... I'm worried... Health Question & Answer

i wouldn't be too worried. Today's xrays are pretty safe... They're only on for an instant. In the past, when it would take 20 minutes to get an Xray.. THATS when people were getting cancer. Unless you are having hundreds of xrays in one day, or the xray is on for an hour or something, you have nothing to worry about. Xray techs just go out of the room because they sometimes take hundreds of xrays a day and they don't want to constantly be exposed to that. Health Question & Answer

ok look i am going to tell you stuff about X-rays if you do a lot of xrays the atomic structure will change because atoms can't exist freely so when xrays are put on skin it goes through the atoms and breaks some atoms and as i said atom can't exist freely so then the atoms will make a group with each other and make another molecule and that could cause serious problems but xrays are still better than surgery'sHealth Question & Answer
Yipes, are you accident prone.? If you have been going to the same hospital for your injuries, they will have a record of everything that was done to you. Apparently, they had no choice but to do xrays. So I am sure they know about all of them. Please be more careful. Health Question & Answer
