Are headaches a normal side effect of accutane?!

Question: Are headaches a normal side effect of accutane.?
I've been on accutance for about a month now and every once in a while i'll get horrible headaches.
The very first one i got i had to leave school because i felt like my head was going to explode.
My doctor said its normal, but the nurse said i shouldn't be getting any headaches.
I was just wondering if that's normal.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Headache is a side effect of Accutane. It is not
necessarily so, but can be. It is not abnormal to have
a headache from Accutane. It is listed as one of the
things that can result from it affecting the CNS. All
drugs have side effects. Two people can react entirely differently to the same drug. If you start having other symptoms call the doctor immediately, or go in.

I don't know where you are, but watch the sun.

Are you taking it all in one dose. Are you taking it with
food. Try two doses, with food if the doctor says ok.

I hope you are not using astringents on your skin, or hot water. The more you strip your skin of oil, the harder it will work to produce oil, the more your
pores will be clogged. More zits. Easy does it. Tepid water.
Hands away from face, don't pick;. Keep your hands clean. Wash hair,
and change pillow case often. Don't scrub your
face really hard, lather with clean hands, rinse will,
pat try couple times a day. Gentle. That cannot
hurt. If it does, go back to what you did.Drink
plenty of water if you can tolerate it, and eat
fruits and veggies. Put a little round band aid over
that zit instead of picking it If you do it at night
after washing your face, it may be popped by am.

Keep talking to your doctor about the
