My hair and nails have always grown fast but lately it's been ridiculous! My hair has grown 6 inches in less than 5 months and if I don't file my nails twice a week they turn into dragon lady claws. I was recently diagnosed with anemia and put on iron tablets. Could that be it or could it be something serious.? Do I need to see a doctor.?
BTW, if it is the iron don't try it! Iron tablets have serious side effects(I had a lot of them and they weren't fun) and an overdose can even be fatal. I repeat, don't try it!Health Question & Answer

hair and nails are made from the same thing Keratin, keratin needs blood to grow.You are on Iron tablets and that is god for your blood;so my guess would be ...yes the Iron pills are helping. Eat loads of dark green veg to help your blood also, and eat red meat ( if you are not a vegi)Health Question & Answer
