Waking up then your body tingling, then being almost paralyzed for a minute or two?!

Question: Waking up then your body tingling, then being almost paralyzed for a minute or two.?
For about the past year every couple of weeks my best friend will wake up in the middle of the night and change positions or whatever and her body will tingle for like 5 seconds then stiffen up until she can't move at all. She can't even move the slightest bit to wake anyone up, it doesn't hurt her at all she just is completely incapable.. almost like she's paralyzed for a minute or two. She can make small noises, but she can't open her mouth. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's not normal but I can't get her to go to the doctor.. anyone else ever had this problem.? Just wanting to know if I should be completely worried about it or not.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I would call it sleep paralysis, but happens as you wake up, not after you wake up and move, I think. The website has more information. It can have to do with other problems, like panic attacks or sleep problems.

It could be some kind of a seizure.Health Question & Answer
