Pupils are affected mainly by light but other things too. Strong emotional experiences -- thoughts or photos, etc can change pupil size. If you think about someone with whom you are in love, your pupils will dilate a bit. Think of something that you hate and they will constrict a bit. So, it's not unusual. I think I saw a research study about voluntary pupil size and they found it was possible. You should have been one of their study subjects! :)Health Question & Answer
