I Have Stupid Tampon Problems...?!

Question: I Have Stupid Tampon Problems....?
Ok, I am not a little kid, but for some reason, I can never get a tampon in right. I've tried different positions when putting it in, different sizes, different brands, etc. For some reason I cannot get it far enough so that I can't feel it...no matter how hard I try.

Any tips.?Health Question & Answer

Honestly, I have this same problem.
You can go to the gynecologist if you want, but they'll probably tell you the same thing they told me. Some people are just smaller than others, and it makes it difficult for you to use tampons. Even after you have sex (which for most people makes it easier for you to use tampons) you may even feel some discomfort.
Just use pads unless you just...need to use a tampon. You can't fix the problem, you just have to deal with it.Health Question & Answer

Hey babe,
Don't worry yourself silly about tampons, some people cannot use them at all for various reasons. Ok if your going to go on water slides and other things that involve deep water or in general that region getting wet you do need to wear a tampon. But I do know some reasons as to why this may be a problem for you.
1. You may be very tight (vaginal muscles) especially if your a virgin.
2. You might not be relaxing, either your anticipating the pain you may feel, or in general your anxious.
3. Your trying to use larger tampons, to big for your first go.
4. Your not positioning properly.
Now these tips may help you to use tampons.
First distract yourself from the task at hand, put on a song you like and consentrate on that. second squat down so your feet are almost flat on the ground, knees bent and spread (get as close to the floor as possible so your calf and thigh are closed together). Third place a mirror under you If you need some direction. Fourth hold the tampon so the point is facing your spine not your stoumach. Fith, Place at entry and slide in gently concentrating on the music insted of the tampon.
MAKE SURE YOU USE A SMALL SIZED TAMPON
DO NOT STRESS BECAUSE IT TIGHTENS YOU MUSCLES
MAKE SURE YOU GUIDE THE TAMPON ALWAYS UPWARD TOWARDS YOUR SPINE.Health Question & Answer

I had the same kind of problem with tampons. I found that what works best is if it had one leg up like on the side of the bath tub or the toilet seat cover and one leg on the floor to insert. also, make sure that the handle on the plastic applicator (the part where you hold close to the opening of the vagina) is literally touching the opening. Because sometimes if I'm in a hurry, I don't hold it close enough and I just insert the tampon, it's very uncomfortable once the applicator is out. Everyone's anatomy is different, so hopefully you will find a way to work.

The things women have to go through huh.?Health Question & Answer

That is weird. Have you talked to your gyno about it.?

I am 26 years old and i have been using tampons since i was 13, because i could not stand pads. I can only use the plastic applicator tampons or they just don't stay in right. Try using Kotex Security ones. I think they are the BEST.

I just put mine in sitting on the toilet, but you tried different positions and i was going to tell you to squat down on the floor and make sure you put it in even and just press it, but since you tried it, that would be no help.

There isn't much i can help you on since you have tried almost everything. good luck, girl.Health Question & Answer

i have had that problem with tampons. i got it in once and never after that and i talked to my gyn and she told me the same old about putting the foot on toilet seat..... but that didnt work for me. and i also have a deep curvix and that makes it little harder to insert a tampon. so i quit using them and now i just use pads. i know tampon is less gross and comfortable but you will get used to pads once you start using them. u can get always maxi with wings overnight. they are very comfortable and absorbant.Health Question & Answer

You cannot really feel a tampon once it has been inserted correctly and into the back.. You might think you are not doing it right but most likely you are. just be sure to not insert it too far!Health Question & Answer

stand next to the toilet, put one leg on the toilet seat and lean slightly forward while inserting it...push it as far in as the applicator will allow.

also, use playtex. they work so much better than other brands (at least for me).

good luckHealth Question & Answer

its all dependent on you, but it took me time to learn it too, the best thing is to talk to your gyno, try it standing up also and get the plastic applicationrs from tampax and they work nicelyHealth Question & Answer

It could be because your pelvis just isn't the right shape for a tampon to go in. That sounds weird but it's possible. If you go to your gyno he/she will give you tips/info.Health Question & Answer
