Has anyone had the nuva ring?!

Question: Has anyone had the nuva ring.?
My OB gave me a Nuva ring to try out as birth control. I can't take pills because I have been a smoker for too long, depo makes me gain weight, IUD is expensive and I have already had two. Condoms, well they make sex terrible feeling, and I think Im running out of options. I don't want to bleed the whole time this nuva ring is in place. Can you tell me about your ideas on Nuva ring.?Health Question & Answer

I had it and it was HORRIBLE! Because its a ring and is RIGHT all up in there, it releases the hormones on the spot. This can sometimes cause an unbalance in hormones i guess..and..what happened to me..is what happened to many- I ended up with MAJOR major itching and yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis etc etc like 24/7 no matter what i did to get rid of them. also..it hurt in certain positions so it was kind of lame not being able to move around much. Plus..the guy @_@ wasn't ..well endowed at all :| so..hahahahha it KIIIIND of got..horseshoed.? if that makes sense..ring around the rosey...and i was afraid it was gonna fall out so i said stop stop stop! oh! and you have it in for 3 weeks and take it out for a week (the week of your period). its kind of weird thinking something is up there..and the spare ones you have to keep in your refridgerator so they dont degrade in the heat.

BUT HEY! Everyone is different! give it a try and see how it works out!Health Question & Answer

I think the Nuva ring is a good idea but I can't give you any of my own experience because I have never had it.

My best girlfriend has the Nuva ring and she told me it works pretty good.

Hope I helped,
Mel.
