ok, so im almost 14. and i haven't started my period. iv searched this question before and all of them had something to excuse it. my mum started wen she was like 12 or 13, i was on the girls swim team, but im an average weight. i have the signs (pube hair, breast growth, and arm hair) iv also been noticing thick discharge. i know that some people don't start till later, but i have all the signs. y haven't i started.?

dont worry. i know how frustrating it can be since i only got my period at the end of december - i am and was 15!!!! i was really anxious to get my period too... i go to boarding school, where everyone knows about everyone in that respect, and everyone is really open, and i was the last one in my year to get mine!!! i am also a swimmer... dont think that has anything to do with it though. the thick discharge is probably a sign... i just found blood in my undies when i wiped!!! (tmi sorry!!) so i know how it feels, and its such a pain being the last and waiting, but thats all we can do!!!

You should do nothing theres no set time for a young woman to start her period, its based on and individual bases. The things you're reading is about an average based on statistics only, not you as a person. Many girls wont have their period till they reach the age of 16 even. So stop worrying, actually be thankful you dont have it yet. Its painful and last for years so enjoy your time not having it.Health Question & Answer
There's nothing wrong with not having started yet. It'll happen when it happens. You should consider yourself lucky. Either way, you'll probably start it soon, so don't worry. If you think there's a problem you can always get your mom to take you to an OB/GYN to make sure that you're healthy.Health Question & Answer
