I have PCOS, found out i had it when i was about 17 because i kept getting irregular periods. My doctor sent me for a ovary scan at the hospital & that's what they found out i had. The symptoms are irregular periods, acne, facial hair & weight gain. They put me on the pill to help regulate my periods, which worked. There isn't a cure but you can help it by watching what kind of stuff you eat, exercise etc. Its best to have a look at it on the internet & read up about it because it gets kinda in depth, about insulin etc etc. Have a read about it. Hope this helped a little. xHealth Question & Answer
Polycystic ovaries.?
Increased facial/chest hair, acne which lasts longer than teenage years (for girls), irregular/no periods, dandruff, obesity, difficulty losing weight, high blood pressure, pelvic pain, type 2 diabetes, thinning hair, extreme difficulty getting pregnant without fertility treatment.
Note that not all women have the same symptoms.
Some women are very unfortunate and have more or less all the symptoms, whilst others like myself have problems with acne, dandruff but can still conceive.Health Question & Answer

it can cause MANY different symptoms. Some women have tiny cysts all over their ovaries, it can cause insulin resistance and a lot of other stuff, including very irregular cycles. Have your doctor put you on Glucophage (metformin) and it will help. Don't be scared, there are lots of things you can do to treat it. I am an M.D. myself I see this very oftenHealth Question & Answer
Facial hair. Periods stop or slow down lots. If you think you may have it then just go to your doctors they'll take a blood sample and if it shows you have a high testosterone level then you may have it.Health Question & Answer
