Question: Confusing Female Health Question...?
around christmas i had some pretty bad pains in my lower left abdomen,
went to the doctor & had an ultrasound last friday
the results showed that i have a small cyst on my right ovary, & a next to the left ovary (not on it) there is a pocket of liquid..
they're not sure exactly what it is but im seeing my OBGYN in a few weeks to get everything checked out,
i just got off my period on saturday & since monday i've had really dark (brown- sometimes black) discharge that is worrying me..
what could it be...?
could everything be related somehow...?
help please..!

After the period finishes it is extremely common to get a little coloured discharge...it can look brown to black...its old blood mixed with some mucus and is perfectly normal...Our vaginas are not a smooth tube they have ridges and bumps etc in the walls which trap little bits of blood...thats why you see these little coloured discharges a few days after your period ends....moving about dislodges them which is when they come out.
I highly doubt it has anything to do with your cyst or fluid filled area...otherwise all of us must have those as well and we dont so you can stop worrying yourself.Health Question & Answer

The best choice for you to make now , is to undergo a operation , i think your doctor might have given you this advice ,a friend of mine is having the same situation as you just that she only had it on one side , she had done the operation and now she's fine .. guess you should just go for a operation so that anything more serious wonldn't happen ..Health Question & Answer
Mmm id say that it is something to do with the fluid and more than likly not something to worry about, but its happening to u so of course u worry. I would go to the doctor and see what it is to put ur mind at ease but dont worryHealth Question & Answer

I think it could be related. Brown discharge can sometimes be old/dry blood. I had this before. Have you only just started ur period or have you had it for a long time.? The brown discharge usually comes when you first start.
