UTI & Kidney Infection?!

Question: UTI & Kidney Infection.?
I had a UTI the week before last (my first ever infection) and went to the doctors and got some antibiotics. It cleared up for a few days and then came back again. this time it wasn't as bad so i thought i would try to clear it up myself with cranberry juice, it really did help a lot but by the saturday i had terrible pains in my back and to top it all off i was due on my period too. I had awful period pains as well as this aching in my back, it was so bad i was rolling around on the floor. My boyfriend got so worried he took me straight to the hospital. They told me the doctor hadn't given me the right antibiotics which is why it came back but this time it had spread to my kidneys as well.

How likely am i to get this problem again.? i don't think i could handle ever getting a UTI again, it was excruciating pain and so was the kidney infection.

How many of you girls suffer from this.?

I understand you I get this and my daughters. On first sign of frequent urinary problems and burning and lower back pain. Get A-Z-O over the counter at Walmart this cleans you out and is an anesthesia for the pain and Cranberry juice has acid that neutralizes the acid that causes you to having burning. Drink Lots of water to flush out the infection and for sure get a good antibiotic, which you might have to go to the Dr for. And drink for pain Ibuprofen to reduce pain and swelling too.Health Question & Answer

Ive always heard that a UTI can lead into a Kidney Infection. It hasnt happened to me yet but I have had my fair number of UTI's. From the age of 17 & now I am 25.
One time I needed antibiotics but mostly I catch it early & drink a ton of water. also cranberry pills sometimes. I take over the counter Uristat to help with the pain while im flushing it out.. this is simply a pain reliever/numbing for urinary problems though, it has NO healing aids. I think once you've had it once there is a good chance of getting it again at some point, only thing you can do is try to prevent it by keeping flushed.

(Cranberry Juice will only help if its 100% natural & unsweetened.. this is the kind that will taste bitter..sells for like $8 for a little bottle & is gross lol, the kind most ppl drink has too much sugar in it & does no good)Health Question & Answer

I suffer from that a lot. I had to go to the ER 3 months ago because of an UTI. It turned out that i have kidney stones as well so it makes everything more painful and complicated. The doctor told me that there's nothing to do since the stones are little, and recommended me to drink at least 10 glasses of water a day and drink cranberry juice too. Good luck and hopefully you don't have to go through that ever again, its very painful!Health Question & Answer
