Terrible yeast infection, need cures - Please Help!!!?!

Question: Terrible yeast infection, need cures - Please Help!!!.?
I have a terrible yeast infection right now. I got it from a nasty round of antibiotics. I've already taken 3 Diflucan to no avail. I'm afraid to use Monistat because the last time I used it I had a serious reaction that caused burns on my labia.

Is there another cure or treatment for it that I can try at home.? I have a gyno appointment on Thursday but I'm not sure if I can take the burning until then.

Thanks!Health Question & Answer

Speaking from experience, when you've got a really potent yeast infection that will not go away from non-presciption meds, you'll usually need a stronger prescription from your doctor, so my guess is that is what will happen when you go. It was also the case with myself when pack after pack of Monistat didn't do the trick.

What you could try in the meantime is eating more yogurt. There is a bacteria in yogurt that fights back against yeast *though normally, this helps in the earlier, milder stages*. Have you tried Monistat 7.? Monistat 1 and 3, for sure, are more consentrated and will likely burn, but 7 has a much milder dosage in each supository, less likely to burn and more likely to clear up the infection as you get a new fresh dose of medicine every day.

Again, if you've had the infection for some time now, or if it's just a strong case, then ya, you'll have to wait for a doc to prescribe something. Sorry!

Hope this helps some :)Health Question & Answer
