well, alot of young grlz use pads...cuz they're scared...but i use tampons...it just goes up a little bit. if u buy a box, (i suggest starting out with the smallest, then go bigger according to your flow) it will tell u everything about them. i use them b/c they r not as messy...WAAAY less messy...so...tampons r good and awesome. i also suggest using Pearl Tampons...they have an easy aplicator...good luck...and u have nothing to fear. just read the pamphlet before using =]Health Question & Answer

Unlike pads, which catch blood after it comes out of the vagina, a tampon is inserted in the vagina. It's made of soft material with a string for easy removal. The opening to the vagina is between the urethra (where pee comes out) and the anus (where poop comes out). It may take a while to get the hang of using tampons. Inside each box, there's an instruction booklet that will tell you how to do it. If a tampon ever does feel "stuck," it's only temporary. It can't get lost inside you because there's no other way out except through the vagina. Relax and wait a few minutes; you should be able to get the tampon out, I like the tampon because of the freedom it gives me, pads slide around, may fall out if you are in gym class, make you sore between your legs, oh they are horrible.and some times if your pants are to tight every one knows you have it on.Health Question & Answer

Using Tampons as opposed to pads is a completely personal choice. I opt for Tampons when I'm wearing tighter jeans, or sometimes I wear both at the same time if I know I'm going to be somewhere where it may not be easy to excuse myself to change a pad frequently.

A tampon is a piece of tightly woven cotten that women use when they are menstruating. It is safely inserted into the vagina with an easy to use applicator. As the woman bleeds, is is all soaked up by the tampon - like a sponge. After a couple hours or so (depending on how heavy the flow is), it is removed or flushed away and changed.

It's exactly like a pad, except it's worn inside the body.

It's your choice, if you feel they are more convenient, and if you are comfortable inserting it into your vagina.

All the best.Health Question & Answer

Tampons are a small tube like thing that goes in your vagina and it absorbs the blood from your period. about using one, only use if you are ready. if you feel you are ready to start putting something inside your vagina, rather then a pad which doesn't go in you, then try one out. You will know if you are ready. Just try one, put it in, and if you are uncomfortable or it hurts, then maybe your not quite ready. if it is feeling ok then you are ready. If you would like to try this and want to know how to put one in you can email me :) good luckHealth Question & Answer

They are used to stick into your vagina to stop your menstrone blood cycle from oozing out of your vagina and getting your panties and pants all bloody looking. They swell up to stop the menstrone from flowing out of your vagina. Yes you should use it to save yourself from being embarrassed with possible leakage or overflow of a tampon. These work the best overall.Health Question & Answer

A pad is placed on your underwear to catch the blood from your period. A tampon is inserted into the vagina and soaks up the blood. It is similar to the way a sponge will soak up water. When the tampon is full, you pull it out and put in a fresh one. Usually you need to change a tampon every 2 or 3 hours. Tampons do not hurt.Health Question & Answer

tampons are tube shaped things that you place into your vagina. they absorb the blood before it leaves your body. i heard that they are more comfortable than pads. im eleven and use pantyliners sometimes because of discharge(which probably means i'll get my period soon). they can get annoying. i asked my mom which is better and she said tampons. hope i helpedHealth Question & Answer

Im sure you now know what tampons are for after reading most of the other peoples reply's. What most have not mentioned is that tampons may seem like a great invention, but they are not! There are many risks associated with using them such a Toxic Shock Syndrome. If you want the convience of a tampon without the risk (let alone the wastage) use a menstrual cup. Or you should use pads.Health Question & Answer

Okay, first, if you're not old enough to know what a tampon or pad is, you're not old enough to have that account, let alone use one! If you're so concerned about something that you won't even get, by the looks of it, for another 5 years, you might want to ask your mom. I'll just give you the simplest way to put it: They help when Mother Nature calls.Health Question & Answer

tampons are like pads but they are small and you dont feel them when you wear them .Health Question & Answer

is basically like pads but tampons you stick it up your 'part"Health Question & Answer

they are used like pads(suck up menstral blood) but from the inside.
some women prefer to use them, some hate them.
they control odor better than pads and are great if you are active ie... swim, ride horses, do most active sports and don't want to have to stop just because of your period.
if you stay on top of changing them on time, (before over flow), they are better at saving your cloths from leaks.
should YOU use them, don't know, try and see if you like them.
be sure it is all the way in/up or it will be uncomfortable. unlike pads, you should NOT be able to even tell you're using one.
they come with and without an applicator. the applicator is used by women who don't like to place the tampon manually(by finger) they usually have nail jobs that make it NOT very comfortable to do manually.
anyway try it and see
