Question: Conflict - First period & such....?
So I got my first period at the beginning of this month, and i told my mom because i thought i could trust her & yah...
then i told her to promise me to NOT tell anyone
then today, we had a family dinner with relatives and stuff , and after dinner, I was in the living room while her and my aunts/uncle were talking in the dining room & such . then all of the sudden i hear her say "oh and by the way, my daughter received her .... (really silently) period"
She said it right in front of my aunts/uncles & i was so ****ing embassed .. lk s**t !! And then on the way home i was confronting her about it , and she was like "well they're all worried about u not getting ur period since ur 14 " and thats not a ****ing excuse.. and PLUS MY BROTHER HEARD HER AND HE TURNED AND STARED RIGHT AT ME... [older] btw -_-
what should i do.?

Yeah, it's embarassing but to the people she told it's not anything that great, trust me. Your mom is in some weird way proud (it's a mom thing) and so she said it out of love and excitement not to hurt you. I was mortified when I got my period and made my mom promise not to tell my dad. But, of course, these things have a way of being found out.

not really. moms love talking about that kinda stuff. it seems embarrassing now, but its really a minuscule thing, your relatives aren't in their homes laughing at you right now. its natural. if anything its a good thing because now they will stop treating you like a child and more like an adult. good luck! its a GOOD thing you told your mom. or else you might have questiond or be confused.Health Question & Answer

I think you have the right to be upset. My mom called EVERYONE she knew and told them!! Then she ordered a kit with all different types of pads and tampons and the box was so big that the mail carrier hung it on our mail box! When my brothers and I got dropped off by the school bus there it was...I was mortified. I was 12 at the time I am 31 now but I still remember it like it was yesterday.Health Question & Answer
