i'm 17 and i'm thinking about getting married july 7 2010 i have chosen to stay a virgin till marrige but i have some questions about birth control for after i get married. i am planing to start in january so it will be working by the time i am married. i didnt wan to take depo cause even though i dont want kids yet if i get pregnant i want to know and if i dont have my period i wont know if its skipped obviously. and if i get pregnant despite birth control i dont want to miscarry i love kids and want them after college but you cant stop Gods will the day i chose for my wedding is close to my period and iwas thinking about takeing depo just ill i get married so i dont have any unwelcom visitors at my honey moon but the shot i take before the wedding woudl be the last and i was going to switch to the patch right after. when would it be safe to do this. i know this is way in the future but i have this habbit of planing things wayyyy in advance just so i can have a planHealth Question & Answer

girls minimum need age 22y. and. birth control. you can use condom. don't have any pills. it is effect your health.
in between you get pregnant don't abort it. because it is given from a gift from our great god.

I think that this is something that you need to talk to your doctor about. I don't know if switching is a good idea. Your body reacts to what you take, I would be real careful.Health Question & Answer

ALthough I think you are young to get married -I think you need to talk with your Dr. about swapping bc so frequently - it is not a good idea.when you're on depo- you do not ovulate- so you can't get pregnant-so your supposition about knowing if you're pregnant doesn't make sense- I would suggest staring on the bc pill 4-5 months prior to getting married - it takes 3 months for your period to become regulated.And should you have sex during that time-you should use a condom as well. Sometimes bride's are on their period- you just have to deal with it - you'll still be married the next week - but on bc pills you will know for sure when you'll have your period(unlike now) and can choose a date when you're not- I'm sorry to tell you - but 75% of pregnancy end in a miscarriage- (some are before 6 weeks, when you don't know if you're preg or not) That falls under "God's will", too - so that is not always something you can control.Health Question & Answer
