she has also had her blood tested and they said her thyroids are off balance. We have no insurance. Could it be caused by stress and diet, since she has lost a lot of weight.?Health Question & Answer

If she has hypothyroidism, that could be the cause of her depression and anxiety. Hypothyroidism isn't caused by stress and diet, but can be cured by simply taking a thyroid hormone supplement daily. Tell the doctor that you can't afford costly medication and they will figure out a way to make it affordable for you. Once she starts on the medication, that should alleviate the depression and anxiety.Health Question & Answer
find out if her thyroid is under or over active, you should be able to get suppliments with thyroxin in to help bump it up if its low. depression and anxiaty can both be triggerd by a thyroid problem so its not something you should leave. the thyroid is most likly to be the cause of the stress and weight loss, not the other way around......
