lol that made me laugh that your mom would say "ohh.. i dont know what that is...?" ....... my mom never spoke to me about the menstrual cycle in girls, and i never asked her either because i was embarrassed to ask. I knew about it because of health class and all that.... When my first period came, i felt like "i have to tell her!!!!, i need pads!, or wait.? tampons.?....idk what to do!!!"""" so when it came i told her "my period just came, do you have any pads.?", she had a strange look and gave me alot!, in different sizes lol, for two years i was always embarrassed to tell her "i ran out of pads" but then i got used to it, and now ITS SO NORMAL to say "I NEED PADS!, THE MEDIUM SIZE!" cause my mom exaggerates with her grandma pads....... I think you should just relax and let her know when it comes, it might be a little embarrassing but everything will be back to normal when you do so. GOOD LUCK!Health Question & Answer

I can't believe a mother would not believe it when her daughter tells her she started her period.

And trust me, she will understand what blood in your panties means and all the other menstruation related questions you'll have.

Remember, she had a 'first period' too and has been going through/went through menstruation for long enough to be able to guide you through it. :-)Health Question & Answer

Just tell her when you get it buy saying "I just started my first period." I'm pretty sure she will help you out and not blow it off. Of course she'll understand! She's a woman too! Don't worry about it.Health Question & Answer

Don't worry! She'll understand, after all, it happened to her way back when. Just tell her when it happens, and she'll help you with the rest. She'll believe you!Health Question & Answer

Uhm.... I don't think she wouldn't believe you... She went through the same thing so. Look for a brown gunky discharge and well welcome to a miserable time.Health Question & Answer

I had blood in my underwear when I was 10 or 11. I'm 2 years older in my body than I am from birth. So that means I'm 17 in my body. O___O I'm an adult next year...Health Question & Answer

Just tell your mum, she will believe you, trust me. I got mine really early and my mum understood.Health Question & Answer
