OK THIS IS GROSS SO IF YOU DONT DO WELL WITH GROSS STUFF STOP READING.im 13 and had my very first period last christmas and ok so i'm on my 2nd period now but it kinda had less 2day but anyway, my pad smells bad. it smells like really strong vinegar. this so cant be normal. what does this mean!.? help please. it dosent resemble vinegar, it smells EXACTLY like it. im so freakin scared its not even funny. help help please!Health Question & Answer

Sweety, you are totally normal. Nothing to worry about I am about the same way, have been for years and am totally healthy! Certain pads have scents and every woman smells a bit different. If it bothers you a lot try changing your pad more often, like every 4 hours, and ask your mom to get you the cottonelle or other brand of wipes. They are kind of like baby wipes, and can help you feel cleaner in between. Many of them are freshly scented.
If it changes, itches, hurts or becomes uncomfortable then talk to your mom about going to the doctor because it could be a yeast infection. Make sure you wipe from front to back and when you shower wash there before your rear.

It is not uncommon for periods to smell sometimes but if it's smelling like vinegar then it's possible that you may have an infection going on. This really needs to be evaluated by a dr.

don't worry too much. chances of you getting an infection of some sort at this age is next to impossible. i'm 15 and sometimes it smells like vinegar to me too. it probably smells really strong only because you're freaking out about it and your mind is making it out to be worse than it really is. and it's not your actual period that smells like vinegar, it's the discharge that comes before your period and after. sometimes it gets caught up with the actual blood instead but you just can't see it. it's usually darker red or brown or yellowish (sorry if the detail bugs you lmfao). it smells like vinegar because that discharge is naturally acidic, so it's gonna smell a bit like acid.

Scented pads can irritate the vagina!
Go to see a doctor(embarassing but it will help!,or a GYNO, maybe see a women doctor).
It's very easy to get an infection(don't listen to what others say if they say otherwise).
Change your pad when it's full!
We are now women,just as anyone else and is very easy.
Your period should not smell like fish either,only metallic(not all people's).
Always wash with a mild soap very well,and wash with warm water,always keep yoursef clean as possible down there,and wash everyday!
Try trimming "down there".

Part of periods always smell bad, especially towards the end, but every girls smells different. The smell is just from all the blood and such. You are completely normal don't worry.
