Questions about the Mirena IUD?!
Question: Questions about the Mirena IUD.?
I had the mirena IUD inserted on Moday, and 2 days later, I am STILL cramping.. Is this normal.? I am 19, never had a child before, and I am now thinking that the IUD was a mistake.. I just don't feel right, and I checked it to see if the strings were in place, and they were, so I don't know what's wrong.. I have heard so many horror stories about how women werent able to have children after the IUD, so I am thinking about having it removed.. Any experience stories or help.?.?.?

You may have a problem, even assuming that the coil is in place and was fitted properly.. In some women the uterus just spasms, treating the coil as a foreign body, which of course it is, and just continues to try and expel it.. if the cramps continue you may have little choice but to have it removed..
I am afraid both N..S.. and Rorybell are wrong, Mirena, unlike conventional coils, was specifically designed to be used by women who had not had a vaginal delivery with nearly 70% of the test subjects, in it's initial trials, being nulliparous..Health Question & Answer

i had it inserted in December 07, and I had it removed in March 08.. The cramping the first few days is normal.. Then you get to bleed for a VERY long time!! I got anemia because I bled for 3 months straight.. I had very bad mood swings, and very low sex drive.. I hated it.. By the way, mirena should only be used by women who have had a child already, why did your dr.. go ahead and let you get MIrena inserted.?.? Thats a no no..Health Question & Answer
For starters, youre not supposed to have mirena unless youve already had a child.. id switch to something else, like the insert they have that goes into your arm for 3 years..Health Question & Answer
