Swollen belly due to periods?!

Question: Swollen belly due to periods.?

I'm 14 and my periods are due in a couple of days. I have noticed that a few days before i take them my lower belly gets swollen and looks as if I'm pregnant (i am not pregnant). Is it suppose to do this.?
