First period after baby?!
Question: First period after baby.?
My son is 8 months old & I am getting my first period (since the lochia after he was born) and it is much heavier than I remember my periods before pregnancy were.
Has anyone else had a similar experience.?
Did your period also last longer.?
How long before your period went back to normal.?
Thanks!

I actually asked that same question awhile back! I got my period for the first time too when my baby was 8 months old. I also noticed that it was much heavier. I think its because basically you didn't have your period for over a year. (since getting pregnant and then after having the baby)
So after the baby was born, you still had 8 months w/no period and a lot of extra blood and tissue built up. That first period was a lot heavier and lasted a lot longer than normal.
That's normal though. I have had my period a few times since and it is getting back to normal.
Hope that helps! ;)Health Question & Answer

Well it took me longer to get my period about almost a year after having my first baby and it was heavy and it lasted for about 1 to 2 weeks. Now on my second baby i still haven't gotten my period and it's been about 7 months. It is normal for your period to be heavy or last long it should get back to normal within next month.Health Question & Answer
The first, and even first few periods can be messy and not normal compared to what you used to experience. Give it a few months to regulate and if you ares still having problems then, call your doctor just to be safe.Health Question & Answer
