Poor thing, there's nothing worse than heavy periods. I don't know if this is normal for her or not but when I first started my periods they were fairly heavy too. She should definitely be using a higher absorbency anyway and for extra protection use pads with wings. The purple pack of Always Ultra long with wings might help a bit more. If her periods continue to be very heavy and are bothering her it might be worth seeing her GP to see if there's anything to ease the symptoms and to make sure she's getting enough iron in her diet.Health Question & Answer
Yes, that's normal, even though she just started her period. I remember when I started my period when I was 11, it was really heavy right from the start. She could try using maxi pads instead of ultra thins, it would give her more protection.Health Question & Answer
