Answers:
All women are different, I bled for 6 wks after my vaginal birth with my first child. They numb the area before they put in stitches .. sometimes you dont even need them. I hear atleast 6 weeks before sex after birth.Health Question & Answer

You bleed for like 6 weeks after the first baby & slightly less with subsequent babies. Starts off as pretty heavy bleeding and minimizes to spotting over time...Wait 6wks the risk of infection is much less as this is how much time it takes the cervix to fully close and implantion site of the placenta to heal. No, stitches don't hurt, if you had an edidural you won't feel it at all & if not they will numb you down there.Health Question & Answer

:) you will have an appointment with your doctor 6 weeks after birth - usually he/she will clear you for sex. as to stitching - if you have epidural, it definitely won't hurt. if not, doctor can give you a shot of local anesthesia and it won't hurt either... don't worry, you'll be just fine! good luckHealth Question & Answer

The standard answer is 6 weeks. However, it depends on your painlevel, and your sex-drive. I know of women who had sex even the day after, and some didn't have sex for the next 12 months.
So there is no straight answer, just what you feel like.

I bled for a week almost. and the stitches i had were the ones that disovled by themselves. I waited about 3 months before having sex again. Thats what my obgyn told me. Plus we wanted another baby so we waited it out to make sure i didnt get hurt in the processHealth Question & Answer

You do bleed for a few days after giving birth and the stitches if you have to have them do not hurt. Doctors are very aware of your pain level and will not let you or the baby suffer.Health Question & Answer
