Has anyone removed an iud(copper) on their own?!

Question: Has anyone removed an iud(copper) on their own.?
Answers:
I sincerely hope that you do not do this.

I cannot stress enough just how dangerous this is for you. The same way that it requires a doctor to insert an IUD, it requires a doctor to remove one.

Removing this device on your own can result in permanent damage to you such as tearing and permanent scarring, and most dangerous of all, hemorrhaging. You could bleed to death before they even get you to the hospital.

Call your OB/GYN and schedule an appointment to have the device removed correctly.

If it is a matter of cost, call your local Planned Parenthood office. They offer low-cost and in some cases, free treatment.

Take care and I wish you well.Health Question & Answer

No and please don't do it,you will harm yourself,go to your doctors or family planning clinic, they are geared up for this and know what they are doing.Health Question & Answer

not a smart thing to do or attempt. sometimes they can dislodge by themselves. the best thing would be to have it done medically as you could cause more damage/harm than you bargained for. Health Question & Answer

I wouldn't reccomend it unless you want to scrape the sides of your uterus walls with the arms! I have an IUD and i wouldn't even contemplate such a thing!Health Question & Answer
