If you crave water or struggle with weight, something more life-threatening you could be experiencing is diabetes. Most people don't know hairloss if a symptom of diabetes, and doctors often overlook this symptom, so it is definitely something you could get tested for at your doctor's office, just to be safe. If they do a bloodtest they can tell you if you are anemic or if you have low iron, which could explain your weakness and lack of energy. And one huge suggestion: EAT SOME MEAT. People waaaay underestimate what protein in the form of beef chicken or fish does for your body. A lack of a proper diet and nutrition could be the simple solution for ALL of you symptoms.Health Question & Answer

I am badly anemic and the only symptoms I have of it are the lack of energy and feeling weak. I am especially weak during my periods. I do lose hair but I think that's more of a hormone thing. All of the other symptoms you listed I have not experienced during my anemia. The dr's insisted I eat meat during my pregnancies and after that I gave up on the whole vegetarian thing. If you're not eating meat though it's best you take vitamins to supplement the loss of protein. Health Question & Answer

Certainly you could. And going to the doctor is the best thing to do. I was told by my doctor that I am dangerously anemic. I take iron and vitamin c to deal with it so you can expect that if you are anemic. My symptoms were lack of energy, need to catch breath, burning in my muscles (after a flight of stairs my legs were on fire) and headaches.
Here is something too, I ate ice like an addict! Sounds odd, I know. I don't even drink water (taste awful to me) but suddenly I found myself adding ice to drinks, then I was going to the store and buying it by the bag, getting cups full of ice at 7-11, ect. I was eating 5 to 6 super big gulp cups of ice per day! Within a week of taking the iron and vit c, I had no desire to touch ice again. Weird story but it's a sure sign of anemia. Good Luck.Health Question & Answer
