Craving water is normal. IF you have adjusted your diet, eliminating the 'junk' we eat all the time, your body will start to change its cravings.

You see, your stomach (and the associated parts of the brain) actually have a memory. You crave what your body needs. If you eat junk all the time, you will crave junk because your body knows what minimal nutrition it can get from certain food.

When you start to eat healthy, those cravings change.

Plain water is the basic requirement for life. You should be drinking a lot of it, whether you crave it or not. Any other liquid is just a corrupted method of hydration, and requires digestion before your body can use the water. Just skip all that junk and give it the water it needs.

also, it takes months to 'detoxify' your body from bad eating. The water craving is likely associated with that as well. Your body is trying to 'flush out all the badness', just like a dishwasher.

You're gonna start feeling better and better each day. Great job starting to pay attention to your body. Stick with it, you'll be happier and live longer.Health Question & Answer

Especially for hypoglycemics and diabetics it is a warning sign of dehydration.

You state that you have started eating healthier, so it may be a sign that what you are eating does not contain enough fluids, especially if you are taking supplements or using protein or "power bars". Many of the "healthier" foods contain supplements and a higher sodium (used as a preservative) content.

If you drink 6 - 8, 8 oz glasses of water a day, you should be fine, but if the symptoms persist, I would recommend consulting your doctor or dietitian as constant thirst could be a symptom of something more problematic, such as diabetes.Health Question & Answer

This is common when you've just cut out caffeine, smoking also. Your body is detoxifying, needing the water to flush out all the toxins and caffeine in your system. Drink as much of it as you can. You'll lose weight too!Health Question & Answer
