Question: Hysterectomy.? I am 28 i had a full Hysterectomy on the 18th. My question is for all the women out there........?
What should i expect.? I had severe endometrious, and i had already had laporoscopy to remove it in april. It came back so fast that even my Ob-gyn was in shock. Anyways I am on hormones to help with the risk of bone loss. What Else can i expect, and what would you recommend i do to help. I am having hot flashed like crazy. although they are not That bad yet, i am sure they will be. And during surgery my doctor tore my bladder when he tried to move it off my uterus, it was growing to it. How common is that.? and why did it happen.? I have to keep the catheter in until friday. Anyway Menopause is sudden and i just want to know how this will change my life.? I already feel better do to the severity of the pain i was in before surgery.Health Question & Answer

I feel your anxiety. It'll get less "interfere-some" with time. I had my total hysterectomy at 35, and I'm 53 now. As much as it hurt, I can hardly remember the oppressive existence I was forced to lead in the "before" time.

The hot flashes don't last very long--as far as the years go. Mine were intense, but only for a matter of months. I was on Premarin--probably for too many years. I thought I had to take hormones forever, and moved having to get medical help in different cities--no one physician keeping up with me over the years....

After the hot flash flush, you may find the thrill of sex is gone--but then I'm lots older than you. The thing I regret most--though there was nothing that could have been done--I don't have, and won't ever have kids. Step-kids didn't even work out, but that's okay.

Sorry to ramble on about my problems. I write medical web content sometimes, and may need to update my knowledge...in this century. What're some good web sites about endometriosis.? Maybe we both need to do a google search :-)

Best of luck, and feel better soon--know u will ;-0Health Question & Answer
