Can AZO test strips show if you have a kidney infection?!
Question: Can AZO test strips show if you have a kidney infection.?
I was visiting my boyfriend out of state and started noticing signs of a UTI 3 days ago. I've never had one but was sure of it. I had to pee constantly and only a little would come out, and it was painful and there was blood. Since it was night I got some AZO for the pain and the next morning went to the doctor, but since they didn't accept my insurance I decided to wait til I got home late last night, and get checked today (3 days after symptoms). At the first signs I drank a ton of water and cranberry juice (100% juice). Yesterday I noticed the symptoms going away. I haven't taken AZO since yesterday morning but still haven't had any frequency/urgency, pain, or blood since. However, I'm a hypochondriac and worry the bacteria left my urinary tract and went up to my kidneys. If it did, would I KNOW.? I haven't had any real pain in my kidney area but if I think about it then I start to think I have pain, but I honestly tend to manifest symptoms over nothing so I can't trust myself.
Anyway I'm going to get some AZO test strips for UTI...if it comes back negative am I definitely in the clear as far as kidney infections go.?

I've had a history of UTI's because I have had lots of kidney problems. But I am almost positive a UTI of only 3 days did not go into your kidney. If it did you would be sick, trust me. I'm happy you managed to get rid of it though, you did a good job of flushing it out of your system.Health Question & Answer
