I've been on birth control for only 3 days and already I'm feeling very depressed and very blue. I am energy deprived most the time, am snappy with people (and very moody), and very anxious. i have to stay on it for a while (hormones) and i'm worried - is it gonna be like this all along .? help! There is more than one type of birth control pill. Tell the doctor that put you on the pill what is going on with you and he may be able to give you something different.

Sorry to hear that, my first start-up on BC made me really emotional for about a month, i cried at the drop of a hat.
Luckily, it all even out in a couple month's normally. You're putting hormones in your body that you're not used to, it's natural for people to "adjust" in different ways. If you get worse might want to talk to a doctor, but it should balance out in a couple weeks.Health Question & Answer

It gets better when your body gets more used to the hormones. I was in the beginning as well as nauseas. Give it time (like a month or two) if it doesn't get better, then talk to your doctor about trying a different kind with lower hormone levels.Health Question & Answer

It takes a full week for the birth control to get into your system, so it is unlikely that the BC pills are causing your depression. Health Question & Answer
