A lot of women have low hemoglobin and are anemic and a big contributing factor is our monthly periods. It isn't anything to be terribly concerned about. I'd recommend taking a multi-vitamin if you aren't already. I know that One a Day for Women has like 150% of the amount of iron you need so that should help.
Next time you see a doctor, mention it and they can test you for anemia and see if you need to be on prescription supplements.Health Question & Answer

Don't worry!! I have been through that like a million times!!! No, your iron is not dangerously low or anything. its normal for womens iron level to be lower, especially right after their period!! it happens to me everytime! i always try to give blood before my period comes, then i usually take vitamins with iron in them for a few days before i go, just to make sure its okay! and i always try to eat a spoon of peanut butter before i go to give blood, peanut butter helps with iron levels also!! and thats always worked for me!! good luck :)Health Question & Answer
