UTI'S -- Is The Baking Soda Necessary?!

Question: UTI'S -- Is The Baking Soda Necessary.?
To prevent recurrence of UTI's the doctor has me taking:

morning: 500mg Vitamin C
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

bedtime: 500mg cranberry
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

I guess it's working because there's been no recurrence but my blood pressure has gone sky high. I know it's the baking soda because that is mostly salt. Could I just skip the baking soda.? Would the cranberry and C be enough.? Thanks.Health Question & Answer

I've only had 1, but cranberry juice helped a lot. There are also cranberry pills in the vitamin section of the store, and AZO Standard (also available in Cranberry) - either one is good for UTI's (over the counter drugs).Health Question & Answer

Your high BP appears to be due to the chronic UTI extending into your kidneys causing chronic pyelonephritis and kidney damage etc. Vitamin C, baking soda, or cranberry have nothing to do with your raised blood pressure. Health Question & Answer

In my experience, only the cranberry juice helps UTI.Health Question & Answer
