Sickness is a ligtimate reason for dismissal from your job, especially if you havn't been employed with this company for a short time. However, if you have sick notes from your GP, regardless of how long you stay off of work, your employer should be a bit more sympathetic. also explain to your employer you have problems with your health at the moment and suggest they refer you to their occupational health department. Showing your employer that you do want to be at work and that you are trying to prove that you are genuinly un-well will help.

Try not to worry! if you are sick then you are sick just make sure in future you get proof of attending the doctor's then you have the upper hand and your boss can't say anything to you, because 1) you will have the sick notes to prove you have been and 2) By law they can't do anything about it so sit back don't worry and get yourself better : )Health Question & Answer

Just bring in a note so your boss knows your not screwing off.
If you don't feel well, it is not your fault and if they can't understand that and let you go, well you know what it is their loss anyhow. Sounds like you like your job and trust me, liking it is half the battle. There will always be another one if you lose this one.Health Question & Answer

Your in a very difficult position as an employer can sack an employee within the first 12 months without giving a reason. Perhaps you could talk to your boss and explain things.? good luckHealth Question & Answer

Yes in fact, because you have not handed in your sick notes, it could seem like you have been faking illness.
