I know that antibiotics interfers with my birth control, and i plan on refraining from sex until i get my next period even after i completed the antibiotics, but my question is if i had sex on friday and i started taking them on sunday, is that going to put me at risk at all since semen can remain in my system for a while.? or am I okay as long as i just use a back up method until i get my period.? i have emergency contraceptive, should i take that.?

i would use a condom for the next 7 days after u finish the antibiotics
so yes, i would take the emergency contraceptive. as long as it is within 72 hours of the sexual intercourse. (it is most effective)
otherwise see your doctor again!
