you are too sweet!

in my opinion, you should give the slender tampons a try!
i never liked wearing pads when i was younger.
the changes of it getting stuck in your vagina are very slim..

about the pain factor..
it does not hurt to wear tampons if you insert them correctly.
i have heard of younger girls who were curious inserting tampons when they didn't have their period, and that will hurt, because you need the moisture from your period to lubricate your vagina so that it does not hurt when you insert the tampon.
i wish you luck sister!!Health Question & Answer

i know what you mean im 15 and still wear pads i hate them and hopefully will be switching over to tampons this month but try using playtex gentle glide slender the tube is nice and slender and smooth so it goes in so nice and if you ahve questions about putting it in there are directions that come with it but if you cannt find your "hole" use a missor for the first time or i know its a little embarrising but have your mom put it in for you for the first time that way youll KNOW it is in the right spot and dont be embarressed because she gave birth to you ya know you came out of her vagina so its all good loll. but yeah just try thoes optionss good luck hunnie and dont listen to the other people your not too young to use tampons it what makes you comfortable that matters [: Health Question & Answer

You are young to be using tampons. The two issues with young girls wearing them is:

1. They are more likely to be uncomfortable because you have not matured enough yet for them to fit properly.

2. It makes you more prone to infection.

As well, its more common for younger girls to use the wrong absorbency.

You could try using other brands like Kotex, etc to see if you prefer them. As well only use overnight pads on heavy days and regular pads on light days.Health Question & Answer

Use the unscented plastic tampons follow the diagram if you do it properly it will not hurt at all. I do not think you are too young but that is something you and your mother should talk about. Using the correct absorbency is very important. Playtex pearl is a brand that I trust. You could get a box of mixed slender absorbency to make sure you are covered, also there is a slim brand for young women. I cannot remember the name... http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/tampon.... go to this site it will help a lot. Take care it will get better :)Health Question & Answer

Yeah they make pads that don't feel like diapers.
If you were going to be wearing slender tampons, chances are, depending on your flow, you'd have to change them constantly.
Anyhow, just browse the pads until you see some that are thin.

I know my favorite ones, when I do use pads, are really thin, but super absorbancy...and they're perfectly comfortable.Health Question & Answer

You've got the support of your mom, you can talk to her about this, she's been there too. As for tampons, it may hurt when you first start using them and while 11 is young there is no age on tampons...that i'm aware of. Use what feels comfortable for you, periods are bad enough on their own.Health Question & Answer

It is a very normal age to start wearing them. But you should not do it if you do not want to.

I want to suggest an alternative product for you. My daughters and I each use this product called a menstrual cup. It is a soft rubber, FDA approved little cup that catches your menstrual blood. It is much more comfortable that a tampon, goes in easier, is more comfortable and has zero risk of TSS unlike tampons. Plus, you use the same one for ten years which saves a ton of cash. Really simple to use! Here is a link http://www.keeper.com/Health Question & Answer

oh hun yes, you shouldn't be wearing tampons at your age. your body isn't very up for that at your age. stick to pads. i wear always pads since i was 10 and they do feel like a diaper.. i am not 16, but tampons are annoying it is your personal choice tho, so what ever yoy feel comfy in is what you like!
Hope this helps Sweetie.
Cheers :)Health Question & Answer

I started my period when I was 11 but I waited till I was about 20 till I tried my first tampon. My advice would be to wait a while, not till you're 20, but wait a couple more years. Try wearing Kotex Ultra Thin Pads. That's what I use and I can barely feel anything there.Health Question & Answer

have u tried ultraslim pads.?
they dont feel like ur wearing a nappy...
or tampons like tampax (with or without applicator) i found it easier with an applicator that way u get it in the right spot without any doubt.
good luck chook!
