Worried...depo shot..then SEX... any answers from birth control users or doctors/nurses. 10 POINTS!!?!

Question: Worried...depo shot..then SEX... any answers from birth control users or doctors/nurses. 10 POINTS!!.?

Ok well I had a medication abortion on tuesday september 16. I HAD to do this, I wasnt doing very well and I was having stress issues. My doctor and parents recommended this and I agreed.

So on the day of my follow up appointment(7 days later) I went to the follow up appt. I got my first depo shot. The doc said to be extra sure wait a week before having unprotected sex. She also said I wasnt ovulating yet.

Saturday and Sunday that same week I had sex with my bf, he didnt finish inside, but he pulled out minutes before he came. (i know a big risk still).

So should I be worried.?Health Question & Answer

Hey there,

your risk of being pregnant is very slim especially since you just had a medical managment termination, are not ovulating and have had the depo injection all these things are on your side. I wouldnt worry for now. If you start to get symptoms of being pregnant, sore breast morning sickness ect i would take a pregnancy test, since you are on the depo then you can not wait until u miss a period as you wont have one anyway because of the injection.

Hope this help

Hi there,

i'm on depo as well and i suggest you wait the 2 weeks for the Depo to kick in just to be safer,

everytime me and my husband have sex we still use protection as well as the depo just more protection to be safer than sorry,

maybe you should use protection as well i.e condoms

do you mean you had a abortion cause your parents and doctor recommend.?.?

wish you all the best
