Question: How long should it take for the side effects to go away after stopping birth control.?
If I was on Yasmin for 2 months, how long should it take for my side effects (depression) to go away after stopping it.? It's been 2 weeks since taking my last pill, and I'm still depressed.Health Question & Answer

I would give it the amount of time for at least one full menstrual cycle (28 days), but probably more like two, to let your natural hormones get back to regulating your cycle. If you still feel depressed after that, talk to your doctor. In fact, you may want to call your doctor now and mention this just so they can advise you from a doctor's perspective. It normally takes a full month for the birth control to take effect, so I am assuming that it will be a full month for the estrogen to completely leave your system and for you to be back to normal.
