My friend was coming back from America and it was like two weeks before she was expecting her period so she wore some white jeans. I dont know whether it was stress or the pressure in a plane but she came on and got blood everywhere and she had to go through security before she could change!!! Embarassing!!!!!!Health Question & Answer

What everyone else has said about the stress, but also the changing air pressure can affect your flow- think of a half-full bottle of water, the number of air particles inside it stays the same if the cap is closed and then you go up (where the pressure decreases). When you open the bottle high up you let the air out (all the air suddenly rushes out as if it is fizzy and sometimes sprays some water out, in order to even out the pressures). I'm guessing it's the similar with you being on your period- lower pressure causing a heavier flow.Health Question & Answer

Yes, especially if flying stresses you.

It's perfectly possible - and normal - for a woman to be late or even skip a period.

Diet, exercise, drugs, illness and/ or stress can all be contributing factors.

If you know you're not pregnant, don't worry about it.

If it continues for more than one cycle, see your doctor, because then it may be a symptom of an underlying gynecological issue.

I've traveled by plane several times. Sometimes it messes my period up and sometimes it doesn't but I noticed it only messes me up when I'm extremely stressed out by the trip. So I don't think its the actual air travel, but the stress of it. Are you scared of flying.? lolHealth Question & Answer

Emotional/mental/physical stress can affect the onset of your period. So, if travelling was stressful to you, then that could be why your period was messed up.Health Question & Answer

I've never experienced that while flying myself, but I'm sure everyone's different.Health Question & Answer

yap definitely it can mess it up, the same thing is when you are in the mountains high somewhere...the air pressure does it ;)Health Question & Answer
