Have a question about girls with their periods at school.?!

Question: Have a question about girls with their periods at school..?
My friend was distraught today after she went to do a job for a teacher during class and realized she had her period, it was unexpected and she didnt have any with her, so she went to the office and asked for a pad. They asked her for some money but she didnt have any, so they didnt give her one. She had to use toilet paper instead. Then next period she was distraught and almost crying and asked if i had one so i gave one to her.

I am disgusted at the office for not giving her one. Do you think they should charge for pads at school.?Health Question & Answer

Thats terrible. That's really wrong of your school and I think you girls should all complain about that. "Emergency pads" from the office at school should be free. A few dollars is not going to wreck the schools' budget they should have some compassion and hand them out free.

I feel so sorry for your friend. I'm glad you could help her out.

I remember at school we could get pads for free from the office but if we wanted tampons we had to go see the needlework teacher and we paid like 20 cents for one. At least we had a free option.... I think that should be standard in every school. Health Question & Answer

She needs to start putting a pad in her purse about a week before she expects her period. If she has a locker, she can keep a couple in there all the time just in case. The people in the office were morons. I've always considered it the "Woman Code"..... if someone needs a pad or tampon and you have one, give it to them, one day you might need the same done for you.Health Question & Answer

Wow! What a disgusting school!! Forget the money...she could have brought a replacement the next day! I can't imagine what that person who said "no" was thinking. It borders on negligence.
I would certainly share this incident with the parents or "higher up" at the school I'm shocked.
As a practical joke, why don't you bring a box of tampons / pads and leave them for the person who said no. Maybe they'll get the hint.Health Question & Answer

My highschool always supplied those things for free. I think with the tuition and tax money they get, a pad once or twice in an entire student's time there is not too much to ask.
I think it's a good idea to have some on you at all times, even if you're not expecting your period. Health Question & Answer

NO OMG what kind of school is this.? School is supposed to help, not charge. That is atrocious and if I were her I would report that to the school board. Tell her to tell her parents. Thats such negligence on the school, since when do you charge for mother natures ways.? And it will be even worse if it was a woman who refused her.Health Question & Answer
