Question about taking birth control pills...?!

Question: Question about taking birth control pills....?
I took my pills for the first 2 weeks like I was suppose to. On the last week I forgot to take them most of the week so when I finally remembered to take them I took all of the pills I missed at once. I was suppose to get my period on Sun but it still hasn't come, could this be why.? FYI I have been taking them for 2 years now just for the purpose of regulating my period.Health Question & Answer

ooo, always read the little packet that comes with your pills when you miss them......generally what you should do is this: say you forget Mon, Tue and Wed. On Thurs you should take 2 as soon as you remember, on Fri 2 at the reg. time and Sat 2 at the regular time. I dont think you are supposed to take more than 2 in a day.

MIssing your period shouldn't be a problem, if you are not having sex. Your body is probably just off, so go ahead and start your next pack of pills when you normally would. When you are on birth control it does not normally hurt anything to miss a period. If everything doesn't return to normal next month, get an appt. with your gyno.

PS; birth control pills actually provide a sort of false period. They were originally designed w/o periods, but to seem more natural to women they re-designed them to what we know today. The period you experience while on them isn't actually necessary. Don't be afraid to ask your gyno, or do some internet research on your particular brand, it's all explained.Health Question & Answer

Yes, this would be exactly why. If you look in the little booklet that came in the package with your pills, I believe it says if you've missed 3 or more pills, stop taking the pack, let your period come and then start a new pack after.
Health Question & Answer

Most brands say you shouldn't take that many pills at once, even if you missed them. I think it probably is why you're having problems. If your period doesn't come you should see your doctor. Health Question & Answer
