I was on ortho tri cyclen lo for three months and my period was normal (not heavy, but not light)...it used to be very heavy before the pill...
last month I switched to aviane and I took my second sugar pill last night and I woke up this morning and had very light bleeding. It is heavy enough that I need a pad, but still very light...
I looked at my pad after the day and it has brown stuff as well as some bright red blood and when i go to the bathroom, blood comes out.
Usually, my first day is very heavy so I'm really worried.
I have been stressed out like crazy, and would love some advice.
Is the switch in birth control doing this.?.?.?

Yeah a lot of times switching pills can change your period and cycle all together... the brown blood is old blood so it's good that it's coming out. Stress also effects your periods. I quit birth control and ever since then my second day is heavier than the first now so you may go through the same thing with this new pill.Health Question & Answer
