Hi!
Okay to answer your questions...

1. When inserting the tampon, if you can't do it while sitting down (which may take some practice) then start by standing and putting one foot on the toilet for support (seat down so your foot doesn't get stuck, lol). Next, insert the applicator and point it on an angle, slightly towards your lower spine. Pushing it straight up isn't really doing much other than making it go in all awkward-ly. You'll need to do it on a slight angle.

2. Don't put the whole applicator in because you need to push on it further and the tampon is going PAST the applicator. Instead, just push it in maybe a quarter to half of the way and then push. If you're comfortable with yourself and your body you can even use a finger to push the tampon up further in case you feel as though it's not as far in as it could be (which might be the reason you can still feel it when you shouldn't). If you choose to do this, just make sure you're washing your hands thoroughly afterwards! There is no shame in doing this because there are brands of tampons that come without an applicator that you have to use your finger anyway - like the O.B. brand.

3. You shouldn't be able to feel the tampon. This means that it's not inserted correctly. Try the above steps and you should be okay. If you still feel it, then you haven't inserted it correctly! Try again!

4. This depends on what your relationship is like with your mother. You don't have to because even though she is your mom, this is a natural, personal thing that you aren't entitled to have to disclose information about to anyone. If you feel like you want to keep this to yourself, then don't feel guilty about it! If you are close with your mom, then maybe let her know - she could probably even give you tips on how to insert it if you're that comfortable with her. I'm comfortable with my mother and very close to her so she's actually helped me out with all the feminine stuff when I was younger and I need it! =).

Good luck!!!Health Question & Answer

First, I would suggest using tampons with a plastic applicator, at least until you get used to using them. They make a kind with a finger grip at the base of the applicator...that should be helpful as well.

Insert the applicator until the finger grip, then press the plunger. Remove the applicator.

If you can feel the tampon, you haven't inserted it correctly. Just try again until you get it right. Try not to be too nervous, as you will tense up. You can always use a mild lubricant (made specifically for genitalia, mind you) if you need the help...but I think you should be fine with plastic applicators.

Yes, tell your mom, so she can help you buy them.Health Question & Answer

Hi
1. Maybe the tampon size you are using is to big try using a smaller one.
2. You put the whole applicator in but not to far that your fingers cannot grip it to push the actual tampon in.
3. No if you are feeling the tampon then it means it has not been put in correctly or it is to big.
4. Chat to your mom maybe she also has some suggestions, there's nothing wrong with using tampons.
Health Question & Answer

Hi

You need to make sure the whole applicator is in, not so far that you can't touch it with your finger, but it shouldn't be sticking out.
If its the first time you've used a tampon it will feel awkward to begin with, And you may need a smaller size until your vagina is used to it.
I think you should tell your mom, it isn't anything to be ashamed of, its completely natural.
If you feel awkward telling her, Maybe explain why you'd rather use a tampon then a pad.

Good luck xHealth Question & Answer

1. look at the packet that comes with the box. it shows you how to stand and everything.

2. you push it in until your fingers just touch your vagina.

3. try using a smaller tampon if you follow all the steps and can still feel it.

4. you don't have to tell your mom but she might be able to help you. plus, it's not wrong and nothing to be ashamed of.Health Question & Answer

i used to take dance too and i used OB tampons theyre greatHealth Question & Answer

you shudnt be feeling the tampon inside you. and i think that its best for you to let your mom know whats going on with you at all times. make sure that you are relaxed when you are inserting your tampon.Health Question & Answer

you need to put the applicator all the way in. you shouldn't be able it feel it, so i'd definitely talk to your mom about it.Health Question & Answer

You should definitely tell your mom because complications could arise. She should also be the one to explain how to insert one. I have a 14 yr old and if she felt like she had to ask someone else, i would feel terrible!Health Question & Answer

see the directions on the pack.. you shouldn't feel it if you inserted it right.. i think you should tell your mom maybe she'll help you.. remember to not wear them more than 8 hoursHealth Question & Answer

I've been using pads for 7 years & not tried anything else, so I can't really help with Q1 & 2.

You shouldn't wear it if you can still feel it though, since it's meant to be comfortable. If you can feel it & it's causing discomfort, remove it & try again with another one. Make sure you aim for your back & that you get it in far enough.

Might be best to tell you mom, so you can always ask her help about any problems you're having with them.

Otherwise, there really isn't a problem with pads - you still need to change tampons just as regularly as pads, remember - and the icky part comes part & parcel with the period shenanigans I'm afraid.

Wearing them at school isn't a problem unless you do a lot of PE, in which case you might be better suited to the ones with wings, so that they won't slip.

However, if you're determined to try the tampons again, I hope that I've helped & wish you luckHealth Question & Answer

1. Once it's in, it's pretty difficult to push it in farther.

2. You put the applicator in all the way up to the point where the two pieces of the applicator come together. You hold on to the part that goes inside you with your thumb and third finger; when you insert it far enough these fingers should be touching your body. Then you push the plunger part with your first finger while you remove the applicator at the same time. The box of tampons will have instructions and pictures showing you how to do this.

3. It's okay to wear a tampon even though you can still feel it, but if you can insert it farther in the first place, you'll have less risk of leaking.

4. You should tell your mom you're using them if you want her to know. Not all moms are good at talking about stuff like this, so you bringing up the subject can help.

P.S. Once I started using tampons, I never ever used pads again except right after having a baby, when you're not supposed to use tampons. They are SO much more comfortable.Health Question & Answer
