Im 13..
As soon as i got my period I started to use tampons.
I really hated pads! I was sooo nervous to use a tampon though because I thought I was going to stick it up the wrong hole!
I used them any way and just sort of had a look down there to see where the blood was coming from, then I read the pamphlet that comes with the tampons like LOADS of times...
Trust me its easy and it sort of just goes up there..
I used applicator ones and they are sooo easy!!
