If you just starting to try to use tampons, they can seem uncomfortable for many reasons. You could be inserting them wrong, or like me when I first starting using them, you could just be tense because it seems like such an odd concept sticking something up there, which would cause it to be uncomfortable, or if your trying to use them and there's not even blood flow (spotting, etc) it will feel very uncomfortable.

No they're not. But do you know what is ridiculously uncomfortable.? Pads.
But like the other ladies have said, you're not supposed to feel a tampon at all when you have it in, so maybe you're doing it wrong. Try standing up and putting one foot up on the toilet seat or the edge of the tub. That tends to give you a good, comfortable angle to put it in correctly.Health Question & Answer

you are not supposed to feel the tampon, if you are its because its not in all the way. you need to go as far as the applicator lets you go. make sure its in. i found that kotex plastic applicator is easiest one to put in. the tampon part is larger and the plunger is smaller for better feeling of if its in or not. good luck Health Question & Answer
It might be the brand you're using. Certain tampons are VERY uncomfortable to me, no matter how I put them in. Don't rule out tampons all together until you're sure it's not just the brand you're trying.Health Question & Answer
