Why am I bleeding during and after sex?!

Question: Why am I bleeding during and after sex.?
When my husband and I have sex, even gently, I bleed a good amount. It just throws us both out of the mood and that is that. It is every time we try to do it now. We cannot even make it past one minute without noticing a pool of blood. I just had my gyno pull out the Mirena IUD a few weeks ago, b/c we thought that was causing my bleeding and I am still experiencing this. I was bleeding like this even with the Mirena. The doctor even did an exam on me and said everything looked normal. I took 2 pregnancy tests and both came out negative. I had my period about 1 week ago, so I know it is not that. I am afraid it could be something more or maybe nothing at all. I just need advice on what could possibly be going on. Health Question & Answer

I have Mirena(for 2 yrs,) and over the past weekend I experienced the same thing. It wasn't a little bit of blood either-there was alot. This has never happened before.I've looked all over the internet for an explanation and have found nothing. My theory is that the IUD makes your cervix more sensitive and anything coming in contact with it makes it bleed.I'm calling the Dr. tomorrow.I'm ready to get mine pulled but I'm terrified to have another baby.Health Question & Answer

I noticed you are a mom. How long ago did you have your baby.? If your baby is less than a year old you can still have bleeding during sex, but it should not be a pool of blood. Only a small amount.
If your doctor is letting you leave without finding out what the problem is find a new doctor. You should not have to live with this problem.Health Question & Answer
