Is it safe to have sex when it's that time of month.? Sometimes my hormones are very active and I want to. My husband and I have done it a few times during that time of month...I know that's gross...

It's definitely okay to have sex when you're menstruating as long as both your husband and you are both okay with the fact that you're on your period.
You can only contract the HIV virus when one of the parties involved is HIV-positive so as long as both of you are clean and have only each other as partners, then neither of you will contract the disease.
However, you can still get pregnant if you have sex while you're menstruating, although your chances of becoming pregnant are lowered. Sperm can stay active in you for up to five to seven days, so dependent on when you have sex during your period and you're cycle length than the sperm can stay in you until your fertile and ovulating.
